Rather dark and grim telling of the novel

Rather dark and grim telling of the novel (I've never read it, so I have no idea if this is true to the book) which features, yes, a horse, as it travels from owner to owner, it's life getting grimmer as time goes by. The ending is predictable but certainly not a weeper. Honestly, I'd think twice about showing this to kids as it shows sex, violence and bad language in a way that you wonder who this was made for. Rather odd. Splendidly acted though.
