A piss poor imitation of the real thing . Meh out of 10

If all the original deathnote stuff didnt exist, this movie would be really good. Unfortunately for this film, all the original stuff does exist and is better than this.

I have seen the original anime and all movies.. I really loved the original anime. but i also loved this 2017 live action version with some changes in the story. I really enjoyed william dafoe as ruyk. I know this movie is nowhere around its anime but it is not as bad as people critising it.. how one can compare 37 episodes of 22 minutes each with 100 minutes runtime.

Terrible. Absolutely Terrible, but what do you expect. It is a Netflix made movie anyway and I never expect anything good on Netflix unless it's something that they are airing that they never made themselves. The only connections to the actual Anime are, there are Asian actors and extras in the movie, there is a book that kills people and the movie title. That's about it. Everything else has been Americanized/Netflixized to make a quick cash grab on a big name, exactly like Dragon ball crapolution

This movie is awesome. The plot is great the actors are amazing. The movie is totally different from the anime series but why would you want to watch the same thing twice. its great movie you all

What did u expect? Haven't u seen Dragonshit devolution? It was supposed to be a DB ripoff but it was so crap u can't really call it that. "I hope that the fans are happy" ... seriously?! Also, the fact that they pronounce it "Anniemay" shows how much they know. It was just an attempt at money grabbing and butchering someone else's great work.
