After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Betelgeuse, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her teenage daughter, Astrid, accidentally opens the portal to the Afterlife.
@Alexandrl1 look, Tim Burton movies never took themselves _too_ seriously, if you wanna complain about Hollywood losing its touch, this is the wrong page to do it on.
Was not Beetlejuice a bad person? Why does he have heart of gold all of a sudden? It is all over the place, there is no focus, world building is nonsensical. It had its moments but not to my liking.
People would bitch about a Beetlejuice 2 no matter what the plot. It was great fun! Everyone can stop bitching... you would have hated it no matter what.
I thought I would like it but... the final scene where Astrid (Jenna Ortega) marries the first guy she sees in the castle didn't seem that meaningful to me and when she has little Beetlejuice I thought it was very crude and disgusting.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (the sequel) is an absolute disappointment compared to the original Beetlejuice from 1988. Despite bringing back much of the original cast, the movie completely fails in the areas that matter most: the script and the plot. After decades of anticipation for a sequel, it's shocking that this is the result. The storyline is a mess, the dialogue is clunky, and the charm and wit that made the first film iconic are nowhere to be found. It's hard to believe they took so long to release a follow-up, only to deliver something this dreadful. Honestly, don’t waste your time watching it!
One thing that baffles me is how this movie managed to get a rating of 7 out of 10. How does a film this bad earn such a high score? Either I'm on a completely different wavelength, or people nowadays have drastically lowered their standards in cinema. It feels like many viewers must have started watching films after 2010, with no appreciation for what made classics like the original Beetlejuice great. My advice: skip it. And if you do watch it, use it as background noise for a nap because that's all it's good for!

This was so bad. But then Tim Burton hasn't made a good movie in the last 20 years.
