Wow, for a 4 day long filming and

Wow, for a 4 day long filming and a budget of $5000, everything in the film was amazing. Actors nailed it, the scenery was the perfect choice. The story was creepy as well. Great job to all involved! Definitely a nice break from hollywood's over done repetitive stuff they churn out. This movie was wonderful in my opinion and the ending was sad.

This is a found footage/folk horror gem, absolutely knocks it out of the park. As an another reviewer noted, if you like this genre, this is for you, but if you don’t, you’ll probably find it mediocre. The only reason I’m giving it 4.5 stars is because this doesn’t appeal to everyone, so I can’t just tell a random person on the street to see it. Found footage fans don’t worry about the plot holes…how have so many of them never seen another human, why is the director so intent on not intervening, has the leader really shown himself to be that charismatic that these atrocities are totally fine…it just doesn’t matter to us. We take the story for exactly what is provided and see the movie as this mysterious set of media that was left behind. The acting doesn’t have to be good because these are people who have never seen a movie or even other people before, they’re going to be weird around the camera. If you want to watch this but don’t generally like FF, treat the footage as “real”…it lets you be immersed in a mystery rather than looking for reasons that this doesn’t work. Amazing job from this entire crew, they have a “making of” that you can find on YouTube that really endears you even more to this film.

Apocalyptic or Apocalyptic Cult lacks in several areas but makes up for it with an interesting, gripping story that will leave you wanting more. The film could have focused more on how far the media would go to cover a story but that simply isn't really done in the film nearly enough - Generally Enjoyable.
