Horrifying ... Nice clean air then the Poppies are parasites you breathe .. I just hate the Alien Monkey looking predators. See, everytime I see those, I go back watching Sigourney Weaver Aliens series
I just think that Ridley scott can't elaborate more about the world of engineers and wants to focus on the horrors of deep space and just using the same old formula with a new stories. it worked tho but a missed opportunity for the story of Dr. Shaw. could have been better.
James Franco being in the cast and dying before we even get to see his face, only in a flashback scene... was kinds genius I think. It made me appreciate his rare role because his character is basically the main character of Alien: Covenant Origins [Novel and Audible Audiobook], and as fans of the franchise, we always appreciate that extra scenes become short films featured as bonus content. Feel really bad for his character because he went through hell just be trusted as Captain [basically skating in on his wife's curtails]. And he's really ill right before he goes into hyper sleep. He gets jolted awake after a crash and burns to death on the spot. POOR GUY. This is of those franchises I just can't get enough of. I literally watch the ALIENS and PREDATOR FILMS for comfort and feel like I learn some new detail each time. Sure the Universe isn't without it's flaws, but all of the novels, audiobooks and dramas, comic books, countless video game cannon, digitial series'... deep dives into other works of film and television fiction that too dwell within the overall Universe. As with any long running franchise, each bite ain't the same as the last one, but it's still overall, a really damn good meal.
I love how James Franco is in the cast, but he dies at the beginning without ever appearing on screen. Good times.
I focused in their Landing rather than comparing. I found it terrifying. Molds or seeds from poppy plants, then the burned out Beings in a plaza like place (reminds me of Rome), slow and lower quality. But still scary ...
As with Prometheus visually great, bad writing. If you have to dumb down your characters to have them make dumb decisions in order to move your plot along - you suck as a writer, or you only care about money not making a good story, one of the two. Nobody was acting unprofessional in Alien 1&2, which is why it was believable. This ? No. 5 out of 10.
As everything by Ridley Scott, it's pretty great! I really wish the main was as good as Ripply though.

This is actually the best one after the first three. You can't beat Ridley's touch, even if the script is weak. And it has way less religious symbolism than Prometheus, thanks for that
