Loosely based on the Japanese Chushingura legend, which is inspired by a true story. If you're looking for a fathful adaptation, there are many Japanese versions. This is a fantasy story with magical creatures. I found it fun and enjoyable for what it is - although there is no escaping a real downer of an ending.

There must be over a dozen screen adaptions of this classic Japanese tole... This one is by far the worst of the lot! :P Absolute tripe compared to other versions that have gone before! 0 out of 10

Very good movie, contains the uprising of some ancient Japanese traditions which are really amazing. Suicide or kneeling, are not great habits and in my attitude they are not related to honor and dignity, with all my respect to Japanese people.

It is a Great and Amazing Movie. Great Acting. And Awesome VFX Fantasy World. It really deserved to be Hit in Box-Office. I Highly Recommend anyone to watch this Movie and sure one would not be disappointed, in-spite of its box-office bomb
