you lads enjoying the expensive food? the sainthood of Queiroz and the 89 grand on the first lady's account? the raped 10 year old almost forced to carry on the pregnancy? the burning forests? aye, free from communism. the 140k dead are surely free now. that clown is a genius.
hmm yeah, terrible years when she was on power. I remember being starved to death, with fancy jobs, a master's degree scolarship, a trip to England when the pound was 2.80, a good savings account that allowed me to marry and rent a nice place, an airline ticket almost every month, the universities booming... yeah, terrible. we should have voted for the coke fiend in 2014. what a great thing to have the midget vampire instead of her after a coup.
plus, save for Britain, no other countries than the USA are represented - movies like La Rafle, Rome Open City, The Road 57 are the exceptions that confirm the rule. movies with the soviet POV are, well, mostly russian. how about an ANZAC one? or the Chinese without a white saviour? or even the soldiers from the Raj? or the Ethiopians, stranded and left for their own luck? maybe the Bengali and Kenyan famines, but this would contradict the "hero" persona of one of the historical cash cows of hollywood, Winston Churchill.
that's strange, because of Hollywood I always thought that WW2 was won by Lee Marvin, Brad Pitt and Tom Hanks by themselves and "Russia" was a boogeyman. even Mosfilm was somewhat critical of Soviet policies, save for the Rambo-esque film about Berlin on which Stalin is almost a deity. and JoeJoe, there is a movie like that - Katyn.
