Racing For Recovery follows the journey of Todd Crandell and others who have transformed their lives through a unique sobriety program, challenging conventional perceptions of addiction and recovery. The documentary explores Todd's life, from a troubled past marked by addiction and the loss of his mother to suicide, to a turning point in 1993 that led him to create a new path to healing. Racing For Recovery began as a response to Todd's own recovery journey, offering a non-12-step approach to sobriety that emphasizes physical fitness and plant-based living. Through the stories of people like Sam and Dean, a couple who overcame crack addiction and now help others at the center, and Shane, a former addict who trains for and completes his first Ironman, these powerful journeys reveal how recovery can be more than just abstinence, it can be a complete transformation. By spotlighting personal experiences, the film challenges traditional views on addiction and explores how it can be redirected into a force for growth and purpose.
