This is NOT a Chinese movie; it is a Hong Kong movie made in Mandarin and Cantonese with Hong Kong movie stars. Communist China had zero input for this quite well-known and award-worthy film. In Hong Kong, Taiwan and in Southeast Asia in general it's a well-known story and film.
