I love the anitisuperhero premise but this is very weak and flat. With Stallone, it could've been 10x better. And Walton smiles too much. Unless they're high, no one smiles that much living in the ghetto.
I think having a black lead is wonderful but it's really no big deal. Halle Berry, Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes and Will Smith, just to name a few, have enjoyed top billing in many movies. I'm white, yes, but my best friend is black... and we don't even notice because we don't care. It's the most fun ever when we're joking around. To me, there is no color -- there's only people. And I, for one, love people.
I love westerns but this is junk. Lee should have hired a reputable director and writer because he absolutely sucks at it. It's wooden and has no soul. Another one I've had to toss.
It's scope is too limited. And it's 'strangers trapped for one, common reason type of premise' has already been painfully, exhausted. I tossed it after watching.
I like Michael Paré. Too bad his agent threw him under the bus with this pathetic attempt of a movie that isn't even suitable for the dollar bin at Walmart. Horrible writing that a 3rd grader could've done a better job of even in the middle of being beat up in recess. The only purpose this movie could possibly have is to serve as an example of all the pitfalls to avoid when making a crime film.
