I loved this joint. Keep bringing the OG cinema.

I had good expectations for this film but couldn't even finish it. The plotline is as generic as they come: struggling student meets a grumpy reclusive genius who has shun himself from the world and works a meagre job. The student asks him for help but the genius guy refuses at first but it ends up accepting and they end up becoming friends and he helps with this like big mathematics competition at school and so on and so on. Also the score is this generic and awful motivational music with a strings ensemble to make seem more intelectual, but it comes off as cartoonish and cheesy, and deprives the film from all dramatic credibility. The photography does this as well. Overall pretty dissapointing for me but if you're looking for a kawaii movie about the importance of hard work and good heart and good grades then give it a shot.

A handful of lives momentarily connected by a gunshot. A magnificent drama about incomunication. As the years go by some aspects might be regarded now as overly melodramatic, but is still a fantastic film.
