Plot summary

Francesca, a pregnant Los Angeles widow, journeys to her late husband's Minnesota hometown to finally meet his mother and family. After being met with icy acceptance from her mother-in-law, then getting stranded with her in a blizzard, Francesca begins to discover terrifying secrets about her husband's family.

Filmed inside the Glensheen Mansion in Duluth, this movie hits all the marks needed for an entertaining thriller. I visited the Mansion 5 days ago, so just having been in virtually every room and location the movie was shot in feels surreal. Patty Duke Astin was particularly great in her role as a pregnant, widowed wife. It hurts to know she passed away over a decade ago after seeing her full of life doing what she loved. Patty, if you can hear me, you were loved!

A brilliant thriller from start to finish, You’ll Like My Mother highlights the importance of good writing and acting for a simple premise to succeed. I loved the tension and suspense and the realism of the story. It was tense and heartfelt, offering a greatly engaging experience.
