This movie has no character development, no drama

This movie has no character development, no drama, no climax. The movie is so dull. The moment it gets even remotely interesting, the credits roll. Also the sound is mixed so terribly, even for the time. The worst sound mixing I've ever heard.

As far as I can tell, without having personal experience, the film gives an honest depiction of life selling sex. It is not pornographic at all. Nudity is minimal. Acting is reasonable and the girls are not stupendous beauties. And now we are touching the main reason of making the movie and I cannot find one. A similar movie could be made about a group of cabdrivers, bike messengers or bodega owners. Obviously examining sex is more sexy (duh!) but other than that I don’t see what the audience is gaining. Cinematography is very good.

Credible depiction of working girls in 1986. Unlike

Credible depiction of working girls in 1986. Unlike so many films about prostitution it isn't pornographic, or ridiculous or tragic. Most of the film takes place in the apartment where the women work on one day. Some johns are stereotypical but there are enough to include a realistic variety of types. Louise Smith as Molly carries the film and is intelligent, well-spoken and attractive.
