This movie's aesthetic is like a woodsy, late

This movie's aesthetic is like a woodsy, late 90s/early 2000s American Eagle catalogue that got washed over with Instagram filters. That is the movie's main selling point. Complete lack of character development makes you unable to care for the well being of anyone pictured, except for the main character- who you mainly want to die so you don't have to watch the movie any longer. Also I thought Kirsten Dunst was a little old for this film. If they got a younger actress the lack of emotional maturity and depth of the character could have been more believable, and the outcome more devastating, possibly. I feel like the people who made this movie are nostalgic for older movies with Kirsten Dunst in them, and for the period(s) from the music they chose for the soundtrack, but mashing these things into this storyline they picked (or wrote?) simply did not work.

Slow and weepy tale of grief in the

Slow and weepy tale of grief in the first half, with unique style and setting, that doesn’t become much more than a drugged out continuation of that in the second half. Synopsis oversells it.
