Plot summary

In late 19th-century Canton, legendary hero Wong Fei-Hung battles foreign forces' (English, French and American) plundering of China. When Aunt Yee returns from America totally westernised, Wong assumes the role of protector. This proves difficult when his martial arts school and local militia become involved in fierce battles with foreign and local governments. As violence escalates, even Aunt Yee has to question her new western ideals, but is it possible to fight guns with Kung Fu?

Jet Li is a real star, and it

Jet Li is a real star, and it was great fun watching him perform his stunts. The excellent print and high production value made the film more enjoyable than I expected. Still, at heart it’s a martial arts film, and for me that keeps it in B-movie territory.

الفيلم جميل بمشاهد القتال وتصميم الح...

الفيلم جميل بمشاهد القتال وتصميم الحركة، جيت لي موجود بتوازن حلو، حضوره ياخذ المشهد كله بدون مبالغة. القصة بسيطة وسردها مستقيم، ما بيها تعقيد . الشخصيات الثانوية سطحية لكن تمثيلهم مقبول. الإيقاع بالبداية شوي بطيء، تحس الفيلم يتمهل، بس بعدين يتصاعد تدريجيا. التصوير حلو و الكامرة استخدمة بشكل جيد يخدم الأكشن . ادارة المعارك كانت جيدة على الرغم من المبالغة لكن هذا الشيء تتعود علية وانت نشاهد افلام هونغ كونك او الافلام الصينية . الموسيقى تمامتتناسب مع المشهد بدون ما تزعج. باختصار: الفيلم ممتع بصريًا، حركة الشخصيات تجنن وتستاهل المشاهدة، بس من ناحية الدراما مابيه عمق.
