Plot summary

Captain Kirk. T.J. Hooker. Denny Crane. Big Giant Head. Alexander the Great. Henry V. Priceline’s Negotiator. These are but a handful of the innumerable masks worn by William Shatner over seven extraordinary decades onstage and in front of the camera. A peerless maverick thespian, electrifying performer, and international cultural treasure, Bill (as he prefers to be called), now 91 years young, is the living embodiment of his classic line “to boldly go where no man has gone before.” In unprecedented fashion, You Can Call Me Bill strips away all the masks he has worn to embody countless characters, revealing the man behind it all.

Alexander's approach to the documentary "You Can Call

Alexander's approach to the documentary "You Can Call Me Bill" is truly commendable. This film offers a profoundly deep dive into the remarkable foot-print of William Shatner in the world of film, made all the more impactful by being delivered directly in his own words. It's the kind of introspective and honest portrayal that I believe Shatner himself should be incredibly proud of, and from what I've seen, it has resonated deeply with audiences. "You Can Call Me Bill" isn't just a look back; it's a powerful and moving experience. What makes it truly special is its universal appeal. While it will undoubtedly be cherished by his core fanbase, the messages Shatner conveys about life, reflection, and perhaps even legacy, are deeply relatable to anyone, regardless of their familiarity with his work. This documentary holds significant value for a broad audience.

Just saw the movie "You Can Call Me

Just saw the movie "You Can Call Me Bill", expecting it to be just a typical acting documentary. However, it turned out to be a very interesting, philosophical movie. William Shatner was very intriguing in his interviews. You know the saying "the older the wiser". Well, it very much applies to Bill! Also enjoyed the acting aspect of the documentary as I've seen many of his movies and programs over the years. Including going way back to the original Star Trek series!
