Plot summary

Wilder and Wallace are brothers and pyrokinetics. Ever since childhood they've been able to start fires with their minds but following a tragedy in which they accidentally killed a man, the brothers have grown up very differently. Wilder has become a regular 9-5 workaday joe but Wallace performs his feats with a traveling circus. When the circus comes to Wilder's home town Wallace starts coming on strong to Wilder's wife, Vida who, ironically, is a slight pyromaniac.

This movie fits people with a certain sense

This movie fits people with a certain sense of humor. As a kid, I liked it! Rediscovered it as an adult and loved it even more.

It’s not good but it’s well made and

It’s not good but it’s well made and entertaining. You could call it a guilty pleasure of mine. An obscure and original but seriously flawed movie. I know that it is his character but I can’t help but think that the titular Wilder is actually a really boring character. It’s the rest of the cast of oddballs that carry the whole movie. It’s probably important to know that it is a comedy about people who can start fires with their minds. The pace is slow and the comedy is subtle but there’s fire and there’s fun so I think it is worth seeking out, even if it’s only to watch once. It is a slow build to the inevitable and predictable but entertaining and explosive climax.
