The enigmatic "kick" of an unexpected connection: A 5.0-star "sensational" anomaly in romance.

2010 (5.0) I watched "Cyrano Agency" in 2010, and it achieved a rare 5.0-star rating, standing as perhaps the most enjoyable Korean romance in my entire archive. As someone who generally does not enjoy the romance genre, finding a film that pierces through my skepticism like this is a true "revelation." There is a specific, high-tension "kick" to this narrative-a visceral rhythm that I still can't quite define, yet it kept me 100% engaged from start to finish. The film shatters the fourth wall of generic sentimentality by introducing a "chewy" and sophisticated premise about the "raw" mechanics of love and manipulation. Unlike the stagnant 2.0-star melodramas I encountered in 2009, this 2010 record possesses a vivid energy where even the most "pathetic" moments of longing felt stylish and meaningful. The 95% preservation of my memory is centered on that elusive spark-that rhythmic soul of the story that made a non-believer like me fall "hororong" for its charm. It avoided all the "1.0-star traumas" of forced tears, offering instead a "sensational" and clever payoff that resonated with my appreciation for sharp, well-crafted storytelling. It remains a perfect 5.0-star pillar, a reminder that even a genre I usually avoid can provide a visceral and life-changing breakthrough when it hits with the right "kick."

3 stars (out of 4)

Hyung-tae co-invents an elaborate, online, avatar-based dating game. While online he meets In-ju, a woman who is beta testing the game, and tracks her down in the real world too. They both work in the same huge building (if anyone knows if it's real or not, please let me know). But he doesn't tell her who he is, so of course confusion and romance reign.

The film is sweeter and better done that I expected, and the acting is reasonable. My biggest complaint would be that the film is a little longer than it needs to be.
