This was all very effective storytelling. It doesn't need ostentatious musical stings or jump scares, it only builds on itself and very minor environmental cues. It is very slow burn and the payoff is very late in the third act, but the narrative is compelling and the characters are alive so that the tension becomes real. It is well written and well directed with decent casting and I would recommend it if you're in for some slow creeping horror.

A slow, sinister horror that sticks with you

We're Not Safe Here genuinely creeped me out in a way I haven't felt in years, honestly not since the first time I watched The Ring. There's something deeply eerie and sinister about the entire movie that just seeps under your skin. It relies on atmosphere, tension, and an overwhelming sense of dread rather than cheap jump scares, which makes it so much more unsettling. The ambience does all the heavy lifting, and it never lets you feel comfortable. This is the kind of horror that lingers after the credits roll, and those are the ones that mess with you the most.

An Attempt Was Made

This is a rather low budget affair and while the concept isn't bad, it also is t original and ultimately there is simply too much talking and not enough atmosphere.If it had shown half the stuff described it might have worked out far better. As it stands it just wasn't as creepy as it tried to be.Perhaps this would hit a bit harder with a tween audience.
