Plot summary

Glenn Manning, "The Amazing Colossal Man," believed dead after falling from the Hoover Dam, reemerges in rural Mexico, brain damaged, disfigured, and very angry.

A bit more refined, still not grand While

A bit more refined, still not grand While The Amazing Colossal Man (1957) had a host of technical issues with its special effects that this movie shares, there are fewer of them, and this movie does improve on how to frame the giant in a way so that it can interact with the tiny humans around it, but not by much. However, the story lacks a bit of heart that the first one had, and of course they just replaced the starring role with a new actor and a very lovely face prosthetic. It even made use of flashbacks. It has one scene in color, which was a lovely addition, but it is still not a great movie.

Unnecessary sequel. Silly, dumb, cheap, campy, with laughable fx. In other words your typical Bert I Gordon production. Only merit is clever use of color film stock at the right time.

Before the dinosaurs ran amuck at Jurassic Park, we had the war of the colossal beast. This movie is cheesy, but fun, even though it is an indirect sequel to The Amazing Colossal Man (1957).
