Plot summary

Alberta, a mousy young woman with the survival skills of a snail, loses cash that isn't hers, so she runs from her small town to Seattle where her old babysitter, Celene, lives - a dominatrix with a classy apartment and a life plan. She lets Alberta stay. Alberta gets a job as a checker at a supermarket and becomes fascinated with Celene's work.

What starts out like a girl on the

What starts out like a girl on the run movie turns to a dominatrix farce and then abruptly turns back into a crime romp, its an extremely choppy paced and mood movie. If they had taken the Secretary route the domina story might have been fun with the inexperienced and inept Alberta bumbling her way through life in general. The story was just too ambitious to be fun and serious every other turn. If anything it seems the saucy line was just added to spice up a rote and disjointed crime plot. Sobieski shows huge promise and range in the touching Alberta role and its a shame shes wasted on the poor plot.

Leelee Sobieski and Tricia Helfer as dominatrixes sure

Leelee Sobieski and Tricia Helfer as dominatrixes sure sounded like a good idea. Turns out it wasn't. This story is so moronic as to never be likely to happen, and the performances are so shallow you could not even drown in them. The ladies do look good in the leather and outfits though.
