After waiting for six months I got to watch Vikram Vedha and this is my take on the film.
Usually whenever we compare the remakes with the original source material we tend to hate the remake, but the opposite was true for me because surprisingly I liked this more than the original. I felt like the director duo Pushkar and Gayathri found this remake as a way to fix all the flaws from the original and produce a better version.
I have to talk about the casting because holy shit Saif and Hrithik just killed it and their scenes worked out extremely well. In my opinion they don't receive as much appreciation as they used to get during the 2000's and it sucks because they are great performers and their pair worked really well. Radhika Apte's character felt like an improvement from Shraddha Srinath's character from the original and I liked her too.
The drama felt more well written and worked better over here and it was really really engaging with no hurdles at all. But the music didn't feel upto the mark except Bandhe. Along with that the action scenes felt really great and the violence too.
Also did I mention that Saif weirdly gave me the same vibes as Venkatesh from Gharshana.
Finally all I have to say is that Vikram Bedha is a quintessential remake and I thoroughly enjoyed the film.

I typically refrain from leaving comments, but I feel compelled to share my thoughts on Vikram Vedha (2022), particularly regarding Hritik Roshan’s performance, which I believe has been significantly underrated. The film did not receive the recognition it deserved, primarily due to excessive criticism rooted in comparisons with the original. While it is true that, as a remake, the film faced limitations in exploring certain characters and lost some of the dialogue’s impact due to translation but these shortcomings are not immediately apparent when the movie is viewed independently of its original.
Much of the criticism overlooked the film’s key strengths, particularly the stellar performances by its cast. Hritik Roshan, in particular, delivered an exceptional performance that deserves greater appreciation. While he is widely celebrated for his charisma and dancing, this role demonstrated his depth and versatility as an actor. It challenged my previous assumptions, as I had not considered him a strong character actor before. His portrayal of Vedha showcased his ability to excel in complex, layered roles, and I hope to see him take on similar projects in the future. Although Vijay Sethupathi’s original portrayal had a raw and grounded appeal, it’s important to recognize that each actor brings their unique interpretation to a role. As a Hindi speaker unfamiliar with the Tamil original, I watched the remake first. While the original was undoubtedly excellent, I remain grateful to the Hindi version for introducing me to such an outstanding piece of cinema.
Additionally, I have recommended the film to friends from diverse cultural backgrounds, and their overwhelmingly positive reactions further validated my belief that the acting, particularly Hritik Roshan’s, transcends linguistic and cultural barriers. I am confident that viewers(comfortable with this genre) who approach the film with an open mind will appreciate the remarkable work of the actors. This film deserves recognition not only for its technical execution but also for the dedication and artistry of its cast.
