Plot summary

Tyler joins his friend on a trip to the Catskills for a weekend birthday party with several people he doesn’t know. As soon as they get there, it’s clear that (1) he’s the only black guy, and (2) it’s going to be a weekend of heavy drinking. Although Tyler is welcomed, he can’t help but feel uneasy in “Whitesville.” The combination of all the testosterone and alcohol starts to get out of hand, and Tyler’s precarious situation starts to feel like a nightmare.

Tyrel, the title of this Jason Mitchell starring

Tyrel, the title of this Jason Mitchell starring albeit Michael Cera rearing snoozer, is the most offensive part of the movie. Jason Mitchell plays Tyler the one long black guy on a bro filled weekend retreat and really doesn't do anything but get drunk and sad. There is no big moment or conclusion besides Michael Cera ended racism by wearing a durag. Lame

Maybe I missed the point...but what was this

Maybe I missed the point...but what was this about. It reminded me of one of my fraternity parties that seemed to be about no point. Odd that a group of young men would go to a remote mountain cabin with no outlet than each other. No woman, no nightlife, no athletic endeavors. Just hanging out with each other and eating and a lot of drinking. Jason Mitchell was strong and appropriately uncomfortable as the only person of color, but there was little character development in a setting that was all about characters. Ther was no plot. No rising action during the middle of the plot. which lead to no climax at the end.
