Plot summary

An oddball family on a Kansas farm are trapped in their farmhouse by an impending storm. The patriarch of the clan is a retired soda pop tycoon. He is currently dating a children's TV evangelist. Also living at the farm is his layabout daughter and her precocious 8 year old daughter, his would-be artist son, the son's fiancée, and the black maid. Also thrown into the mix is the daughter's ex-husband, a ne-er-do-well who is seeking to get back in his ex-wife's good graces.

Watched on accident because we meant to watch

Watched on accident because we meant to watch Twister 1996, but stumbled upon this instead. The plot was so slow, the storyline was boring and the ending was sloppy. Don’t watch unless you want to say WTF the whole movie.

Twister (1989) is a baffling drama that promises excitement but delivers a messy, unfocused family story. Instead of gripping tension, the film wanders through strained relationships, illness, and constant back and forth that never builds to anything meaningful. The casting feels off, with performances that lack chemistry and make every emotional moment fall flat. Dialogue is awkward, scenes drift without purpose, and the screenplay never finds a clear direction. What should feel intense instead feels dull and confusing. The pacing drags while somehow rushing past moments that might have mattered. You keep waiting for the story to lock in, but it never does. Direction offers no momentum, and the movie feels like it is stumbling from scene to scene without a payoff. Even the title feels misleading, setting expectations the film cannot meet. In the end, Twister is not engaging or memorable. It is a frustrating watch that feels disconnected, poorly written, and hard to care about.

Like many of you, I accidently clicked on

Like many of you, I accidently clicked on this while looking for tbe 1996 Twister. I was hooked early on, I love a good family drama, and the suspense kept building. But by the end I was disappointed with a boring and confusing plot. The main couple had absolutely no chemistry, and the comedy is poor. You might snicker once or twice but this is generally a waste of time.
