Tupac Shakur introded social issues to the genre at a time when gangsta rap was dominant in the mainstream,and that may have been his downfall.His 1993 album Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z... gave mainstream audiences the impression that ALL black rappers and black youth were hoodie-wearing gang members.This appearance was not overlooked by police,who often did not give them the benefit of the doubt when confronted.I am no fan of hip-hop or rap music but even white kids like Eminem,who try to emulate their black counterparts with this style of ( can we really call it music?).So in my opinion it doesn't matter what race or skin color you have,it doesn't matter.It's the lyrics in their "music' that's the problem.
