Plot summary

Kimiko, a Tokyo white-collar working girl, lives with her serious, intellectual, haiku-writing mother. Kimiko seeks to marry her boyfriend but needs her absent father to act as the go-between and negotiate the marriage. Kimiko travels and finds her father living with a second family.

I LOVED, LOVED LOVED this movie! The daughter

I LOVED, LOVED LOVED this movie! The daughter was so spunky and I knew it from the opening moment where she tips her hat, adjusts her handkerchief and points to the boy! EXCELLENT! AWESOME! I LOVE HER! Her chemistry with the guy she loves (who I liked too) and the mother was great! She was just so nice and fun and loveable! The whole cast worked so well. And modern! It was perfect!
