A commendable Vietnamese action film.

Content: The film has good storytelling, with sufficient plot development for an action movie. Both the protagonists and antagonists have ample opportunity to showcase their talents and develop. The action sequences are well-crafted, realistic, and visually appealing. The characters skillfully utilize weapons and props in the film, making the action scenes feel natural and authentic. The comedic elements are well-developed, reducing tension and adding enjoyment; viewers will constantly laugh in the theater while watching the fast-paced action. The downside is that the cinematography is somewhat disorganized due to Vietnam's lack of professional studios, resulting in unprofessional outdoor scenes.Overall, this is a worthwhile film from Vietnamese cinema, especially considering that most films released in Vietnam are below average in quality.

Funny but suffers from lack of budget

I saw this movie as "Fish, Fists and Ambergris" and enjoyed it but I could not help but think what a few more dollars in choreography, set development and post production could have created. The fight scenes were good yet needed the polish of Chinese productions. The location was gorgeous but needed a few glory shots help the audience appreciate the natural beauty of the area. Lastly, the editing was choppy and many scenes were obviously uncut and needed multiple angles for better POV. Soon Vietnam will produce the worldwide hit that will encourage outside investment and Hollywood caliber production.

a good action comedy

"The Search for Ambergris" deserves to be the best Comedy - Action Movie of 2025, it's true that you can laugh so hard you want to hold your breath! The first time I went to see a movie, I felt like I was holding my phone to check the time because I was afraid the movie was almost over hahaha ? +1 The cast acted so well (Uncle Thanh Nam really couldn't stand it, oh my god) + 1 The movie's sound was so good, very moody, especially the action music was so good + 1 The movie's music - just enough wow (the opening music was so good) + 1 The cast acted so hot, so passionate + 1 The Director was "so salty", oh my god, it's like a movie about a coastal village, so salty, oh my god Yes, this is my personal opinion, if I praise it too much, people will think I'm getting a booking heheeee.
