I found myself having conflicting feelings about the

I found myself having conflicting feelings about the three principal characters. Ollie was certainly depicted as a victim, a weak man who was in his head rather than his heart – more comfortable filming life than experiencing it. He told her that his "career" was as important as his love for her. Natalie was naïve and somewhat vacuous. She claimed that she was attending to and aware of Ollie and how he was doing, whereas her behavior with Tom suggested otherwise. No wonder she fell for someone who was more spontaneous and "normal", balanced thanhe was. I felt that Ollie was submissive and did not assert himself. He allowed Tom's relationship with Natalie to become more important than his own with her. After the tragedy of his losing her, the film showed him continuing to make his darn films rather than focus on having a meaningful relationship.
