The Year of Getting to Know Us was a very disappointing film experience for me. I went in expecting a thoughtful drama with some emotional depth, but what I got instead felt bland, uneven, and frustratingly hard to connect with. It never really found its rhythm, and I found myself waiting for it to become more engaging. The biggest issue is that the movie feels emotionally distant when it should be personal and meaningful. The material seems like it should carry more weight, but the execution makes everything feel flat. Even the moments that appear important do not leave much of an impact. By the end, it felt like a missed opportunity from start to finish. There are some ideas here that could have worked much better in a stronger film, but this one never pulled them together in a satisfying way. I’d rate it a 0/10.
