Plot summary

Gospel singer Beth and her cowboy boyfriend Steve leave Texas to preach door-to-door in Scotland. When, after initial abuse, they are welcomed with joy and elation to Tressock, the border fiefdom of Sir Lachlan Morrison, they're about to learn the real meaning of sacrifice.

This isn't as bad as everyone says it

This isn't as bad as everyone says it is. At least, I didn't think it was. When you separate it from The Wicker Man and see it as its own thing, its a fun horror movie. Because that's kinda what it is. It's like Hot Fuzz: it's a spiritual sequel to its predecessor, not a full on sequel. Not that I'm saying this is anywhere near as good as Hot Fuzz. The plot is simple: two Americans go to Scotland to preach. This is basically the American version of the Wicker Man, even though there already is one. It feels less unique and more generic, but it's still an alright and decently entertaining movie. Better than the remake at least. There's also similarities to The Wicker Man. It's still about paganism and a Scottish island with pagans on it, but it's also directly similar. For instance, in the original, the main character gets burnt in a wicker statue. In this one, the cult leader gets burnt along with a wicker statue. It also just feels similar in style. Overall, it's a solid movie. Not amazing, but not awful.

This film was a total cluster , I

This film was a total cluster , I watched it thru like passing a wicked car wreck. The acting was simply horrible , plot thin and fragmented . The only reason I stuck with it was the Scottish scenery and even that was a strain. This is possibly the worst film I ever laid eyes on and I have suffered thru several........ Do not waste your time on this turd !!!!
