Interesting angle on the climate crisis, and I learned things. Worth a watch if you’re already bought into human caused climate change. The way the film is constructed asks more from audiences than your typical documentary. There’s no narration, and we don’t hear the story from any one’s point of view, so it’s easy to get lost unless you’re listening (and reading, in many cases) very closely, and actively trying to make connections.

Attended a screening of this documentary and left with three takeaways: 1. The film plays like a vehicle for William K. Reilly, former administrator of the EPA, to rehabilitate his image and argue "it wasn’t my fault" regarding his limited impact on policy during the Bush administration. 2. A profound missed opportunity—the documentary assembles compelling archival material and unmistakable parallels to the present, then refuses to do anything meaningful with them. Decades-old rhetoric mirrors today word for word, yet the film declines to connect these patterns or extract any insight, offering neither analysis nor guidance for how younger generations might push back—just a passive acknowledgment that history recycles, offering no real lessons. 3. John Sununu is portrayed as the piece of shit he has always been—and that’s the problem. The film settles for confirmation instead of interrogation, reinforcing familiar impressions without pushing deeper.
