I loved this movie. It’s ambitious .It grapples

I loved this movie. It’s ambitious .It grapples with complex, adult issues, and portrays an existential time for America and Europe right after the First World War. It both captures ,and clarifies ,the intriguing first novel of Hemingway. It’s an intellectual movie packaged as a Hollywood blockbuster. I think it confused critics for that reason. Errol Flynn is brilliant as an ironic drunk and Ava Gardner is… well Ava Gardner… in all her glory. Nobody could have played her part better.

Maybe it is a better movie if you never read Hemingway's book! Almost all film adaptions from books are a disappointment, and not having read the book, it was fine with it. move anyway!
