Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas

Not quite as bad as the 10% Rotten

Not quite as bad as the 10% Rotten rating would infer - but still pretty bad all the same. One can only wonder what it would have been like with Daniel Day Lewis in the part as the Director wanted. I hate to add to the drubbing Christopher Lambert got but sadly very deserved. I didn’t rate Joss Ackland either but the more minor parts very good like the Professor and Guilianos right hand man, his wife as nd key bandit thugs (def not the Countess though). Terence Stamp peculiarly cast as a Sicilian prince. However due to a love of Sicily and forthcoming visit I managed to get through it. Writing this on the closing scenes with totally dreadful music and script and laugh out loud final image. Oh dear.

Brilliant! Very well written and adapted for screen

Brilliant! Very well written and adapted for screen by Cimino, Shagan and Vidal from the book of Mario Puzo (also wrote The Godfather). Great cinematography successfully portrays the ambiance required to be period correct. Whole cast excels in character convincingly. Shows the social hierarchy and methods of conduct very vividly. Enough drama, suspense, intrigue, emotion and twists. Highly recommended if you are familiar with Puzo's work, very entertaining
