Plot summary

On a star-filled night, homeless Thomas seeks warm shelter. Still grieving his late wife, ruined and desperate, he comes across a vast house with the lights on and an inviting open front door. But the next morning, the premises will not let him leave. Destiny has brought Thomas to this place and now he must survive a very personal ordeal. For what appeared a safe haven turns out to be something far more malevolent.

Take Shelter’s a slow burn, but it gets under your skin. Shannon’s great—properly intense—and there’s loads to chew on about fear, family, and mental health. Bit heavy-handed at times, and it drags in spots

This film is a one man show and

This film is a one man show and Michael Paré steps up and delivers a powerhouse performance as the down-and-out wanderer. His brooding is not so much of a man trying to absolve his sins, but of a person unaware that he can repent, living out the rest of his days in despair with almost no will to live. From his stumbling drunkenness to his explosive anger, Paré, gives one of his best performances of his long carrier.

This movie was terrible... the acting, lighting and storyline was college level at best. Michael Pare' must have had fallen on tough times to have to star in a movie of this caliber. The most exciting thing about this flick is the illustration on the cover that makes you think you might not fall asleep trying to watch it. I rented this and The Girl On A Train and got yelled at by my girlfriend for renting 2 bad movies at the same time but the joke is on her! After watching this deplorable film The Girl On A Train is going to be well worth it I'm sure...
