@Informal_Proposal While much is fictional or imaginative in the film---notably, the bookshelf sequence---a great deal is coming, with artistic allowance, from science. If I remember rightly, the visual effects department at Digital Negative used Einstein's equations, prepared for them by Kip Thorne, to render Gargantua, the black hole. They touched it up artistically, of course, but notice how the vague photos we've now got of black holes, such as M87, are not far off from Gargantua. And Einstein's general relativity itself has squared with all experimental evidence so far.
Everything in this movie is a bunch of pseudoscientific lies, there is no science behind it. Astronomy is not even a science, it is pure speculation and fairy tales, a fraud just like heliocentrism, space travel and NASA
@AzadNo1 Perhaps a better approach would be to do what the film itself does: try to find a planet that is like Earth. We need a theory that goes further than general relativity and quantum mechanics; perhaps it will lead to a way of crossing the vast distances in space.
So if the earth turns to dust why would anyone bother trying to colonise Mars which is already a planet of dust ?
The "theories" of interstellar. "Science" hasn't figured out ish and recently has become so dogmatic, questioning IT labels you as a conspiracy theorist.

Worst possible BGM for a space doc, ruined it ?
