Plot summary

Penelope is forced to marry Jonathan but there is no attraction between the two. As a matter of fact, Jonathan is more interested in spending time with the butler than with his wife. Penelope finds a way of reuniting with the love of her life and manages to hire him as the gardener. Two secret affairs in one household soon lead to major scandalous situations.

Exemplary as a low budget film's capacity for

Exemplary as a low budget film's capacity for subtle creativity. Thematically it works with the idea of love's redeeming power, repression and denial. The choice of time and place to allow its story to unfold are impeccable as were the performances.

We weren’t sure whether this was a mediocre

We weren’t sure whether this was a mediocre amateur dramatics performance or a subtle comedy? We thought it was an 80s film!!! And with more sex scenes it would have made a great old fashioned blue movie. The storyline was good, but the impact could have been so much better.
