Plot summary

Part drama, part documentary, The Road to Guantánamo focuses on the Tipton Three, a trio of British Muslims who were held in Guantanamo Bay for two years until they were released without charge.

One has to be ready for the specificity

One has to be ready for the specificity of 2000s films, yet what I was (not) surprised to see is the cruelty, stubbornness, and irrational behaviour of American soldiers just because they have the power to brag about it. A refreshing view of the 'land of the free'.

Interesting story but boring for me. Looking at the poster with the orange outfits and the googles I thought I was going to watch a radiation themed sci-fi. What a surprise..

I had this film on my watchlist for

I had this film on my watchlist for Riz Ahmed as I enjoy him as an actor, but the story of this movie really sunk in and grabbed me. It is sickening that this is mostly a true story, and that the 'Tipton Three' had to go through these experiences. It disgusts me that Guantanamo Bay and places like it still exist in this world. I highly recommend this film even though some of the footage between the historical footage, and recreated footage can feel very disjointed.
