An engrossing film with a standout performance by the highly underrate Jane Russell. Unfortunately, censorship lessened some of the feminist themes of a woman in the 1940s trying to build her own wealth and security after being used and abused by a misogynistic society. Usually, I am all in for a good, vintage love story (and movie) but this one was more than bland. I couldn't connect with any of the actors / characters but LOVE the fashion and music. Overall, I would not recommend this.
