Plot summary

Peter Miles stars as Tom Tiflin, the little boy at the heart of this John Steinbeck story set in Salinas Valley. With his incompatible parents -- the city-loving Fred and country-happy Alice -- constantly bickering, Tom looks to cowboy Billy Buck for companionship and paternal love.

I enjoyed the story line ,showing the relationship

I enjoyed the story line ,showing the relationship between the little boy and his neglectful father.The boy's closeness with the grandfather irritates his father and the strong love the boy has for his pony,along with the bond he has with the farmhand . A good story about a weakened relationship with his father and the eventual reconciliation ,at the tragic end,with his father.
