Plot summary

This was a pretty good movie, a love

This was a pretty good movie, a love story really, but watch for Don Rickles playing a truly seedy character years before he became a famous comedian.

Debbie, tough as nails as a worn down

Debbie, tough as nails as a worn down dancer, and Tony are well matched in this tough little drama of two people thrown together by hard times. Because it's from the late studio period the squalidness of the actual city is at a minimum but this still offers a clear eyed view of some of the difficulties of making it in the Big Apple. Jack Oakie and Kay Medford offer some welcome comic relief.
