Plot summary

Zarina, a smart and ambitious dust-keeper fairy who’s captivated by Blue Pixie Dust and its endless possibilities, flees Pixie Hollow and joins forces with the scheming pirates of Skull Rock, who make her captain of their ship. Tinker Bell and her friends must embark on an epic adventure to find Zarina, and together they go sword-to-sword with the band of pirates led by a cabin boy named James, who’ll soon be known as Captain Hook himself.

The fifth film in the Disney Fairies franchise

The fifth film in the Disney Fairies franchise is about a rogue dust-keeper fairy that is exiled from Pixie Hollow only to turn up later as a pirate captain. The animation for this film is on par with the previous installments. This is the first time other characters from the Peter Pan franchise are introduced in the Fairies franchise. (spoilers) Tom Hiddleston voices a young James Hook and is a little too over the top for me in this film. The story involving a young Captain Hook was not as satisfying as I wanted it to be. I think this is because what was presented opened up many new questions about the character instead of answering them. Tik-tok, the crocodile, was also introduced and I was satisfied with that introduction. (end spoilers) This film seemed to have a little fluff in the middle, but overall an enjoyable installment of the franchise that has been consistent though its run. I think this movie is worth your time.
