A man relives memories of his life in

A man relives memories of his life in Bulgaria and Canada. Narrated by Rossif Sutherland, this short used the myth of the minotaur to represent how the protagonists feels as if he is trapped in his own recollections. The film uses encaustic painting animation, which involves heating wax and adding pigments. This effect is stunningly beautiful. I loved how the images are constantly morphing from one to another. The plight of the protagonist corresponds to the dislocation experienced by many immigrants. Donald Sutherland has a small voice cameo. Shortlisted for Academy Awards. Certainly deserved to be there more than Hair Love (winner) or Kitbull.

Annecy Memory is a puzzle that needs emotions to be completed. The essential questions participate in this reconstruction: "Who am I? What I am?" With a masterful technical plasticity, this intense memory and emigration story is a deep look inside the human being. That "encaustic painting" with which it is made is gorgeous and helps us to understand the true nature of sorrow.
