Plot summary

Lillie, a determined American woman, ventures overseas to join Dr. Jude at a remote medical mission in the Ottoman Empire (now Turkey). However, Lillie soon finds herself at odds with Jude and the mission’s founder, Woodruff, when she falls for the titular military man, Ismail, just as the war is about to erupt.

This film features some impressive cinematography, with foreign landscapes shown off via aerial photography. There are some good battle scenes too but the basic plot was a little bland. I thought it was no better than average really, overall.

If there was a movie here I must have missed it. Probably because I fell asleep.

I'm so annoyed I wasted my time waiting

I'm so annoyed I wasted my time waiting for this movie to get better. There's no passion, no character, no creativity, no good plot. It's like a WWI era Twilight plot but worse acting and less chemistry, while whitewashing the brutal Armenian genocide. The lead males would maybe be OK if it weren't for the bad, uninteresting script. I don't know who the heck casted the lead actress, but she brings nothing to the character. She might as well be Bella Swan: no personality or facial expressions. I could go on, but you get the gist.
