8 billion people on the planet. First world countries can't let in everyone from every failed state, so logically that means we need to turn most people away, the only question is what is the limit - but there IS a limit. If we are going to turn away most people and let in a few, we need to let in the highest quality people with skills we need, and who will be a benefit to the existing population. This isn't hard, and no one should feel guilty for saying we need to turn people away and purge people who shouldn't be here.
