Plot summary

David Hyde Pierce, playing an alien (credited as infinity-cubed in the opening credits), narrates a courtship in a late-20th century American city as an extraterrestrial nature documentary. The relationship "footage" is played straight, while the voice-over (with its most often wildly inaccurate theories) and elaborate visual metaphors add comedy.

What can one expect from an independent film

What can one expect from an independent film? It's difficult for an independent film to be decent but it's simply easier for an independent film to be bad. However, this phrase doesn't get thrown out often but The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human should be considered a movie that is so bad, it's somewhat and somehow good. The acting performances from Carmen Electra and Lucy Liu reasonably passable. While I personally wasn't very fond of the humor in this Woody Allen-style independent film, someone out there in the world can find the humor in this film so cheesy that it can turn out to be pretty funny for them. Despite me being lenient of some of the good qualities (acting performances) and decent qualities (the humor), the film still has a lot of horrendous qualities. The film's writing was highly idiotic and pathetic as some of the characters in the film make some ludicrous decisions. Another beyond awful quality was the film's editing as there were plenty of continuity errors. As it was said before, The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human is bad but it's actually so bad it's good.

The ONLY reason I even considered watching this

The ONLY reason I even considered watching this is because of David Hyde Pierce. Honestly it's a terrible movie with really bad acting. The narration is meant to be funny. Some of it is, but I wasn't impressed at all. Maybe that's why it took me so long to watch it.
