Plot summary

Detectives in a remote town pore through every frame of a troubling tape to find the whereabouts of three missing college students. The chilling footage becomes more and more disturbing when the students come upon the bloody dress of an 8-year-old girl in the secluded wilderness and take it upon themselves to find her. Linking the case of the missing girl and the missing students together, the detectives race to piece enough information together to find them alive.

I have no idea why I liked this

I have no idea why I liked this movie so much. I dont usually like found footage, but this is actually a roller coaster of a movie. If you watch with no expectations, you might like it too.

I was looking forward to this movie thinking

I was looking forward to this movie thinking I was going to be terrified like with The Blair Witch Project. Instead I was terrified by the thought of having to watch the whole movie at the excruciating pace it was taking. The acting was not that bad but the character development was seriously lacking. 2 girls and a guy away for the weekend and they have to film everything. Why? They're not making a porno! Why are there 3 of them? Why not 5? I don't mind odd numbers but the guy is outnumbered. ? By the last 20 minutes or so the sub plot starts to reveal itself which is disappointing, setting up an unfinished ending. Intentionally?! I couldn't stand another 90 minutes of uncooked narrative, yet would have to force myself to sit through it because I've seen the first movie. Thankfully a sequel doesn't seem likely as the movie is over a decade old. Instead of over an hour of random chit chat while strolling fearfully through the woods, they could have worked more on 'the creature' and who/what it is and why it is attacking the college kids. It kind of makes sense but there are so many loose ends and I have so many questions and the movie failed me. Do yourself a favour and skip it. Maybe go for a stroll through the woods instead...

The bread and butter of this movie was

The bread and butter of this movie was alright, but the characters were frustrating and at times it felt slow. Not the worst found footage movie, but not the best. If you’re a horror lover it’s an okay watch.
