I thought this film was going to be

I thought this film was going to be slow paced and hard to get through. It was just the opposite, it was at times fun and definitely entertaining.

I totally enjoyed this movie, partially because I

I totally enjoyed this movie, partially because I have a MA's degree in art history and for the larger part, it is based on a true story. Guy Pearce is an superb actor, convincing in his acting for this role, especially in the end when facing a tough comment made by Captain Joseph to the artist's career. Joseph comments how the artist has wasted all his talents by faking Vermeer, Guy's (the artist) eyes twitch just a second. Oh, how that acting delivers. I can feel how the comment goes through his brain to his soul and makes him self-searching. I went back and watched it again that moment. Yes, it does capture it. Pearce rocks! However, with a degree in art history, not for a moment was I convinced those paintings were by Vermeer. Those close-up faces look awkward and the lighting isn't natural. However, Goring believed it and bought it, lol!

I'm sure this was a great book to read, but it made for a slow first hour of the movie. The second hour was when it all came together and was very entertaining.
