Extremely Disappointing

Netflix billed this as a "twisted, psychological thriller" and with a quality cast, I thought this MUST be at least good. Right? WRONG! This movie was slow, predictable and full of holes. It made very little sense. I kept waiting for the "thriller" but there was nothing thrilling about this movie at all. It was a huge waste of time and the ending was abysmal. Normally I would say "they could have made it a little better IF..." but the story is so weak I can't imagine they could have improved on it anyway. I can't find one positive thing to say about this flick. Wait... there is one positive; at least I didn't waste my money at the theater.

Rather devoid of thrills and excitement...

Suffice it to say that I had never even heard about this 2013 thriller titled "The Last Letter", from writer and director Paul D. Hannah, prior to stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2026. And since it was a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to check it out.The script in the movie was pretty bland. Now, it wasn't a bad script, but it was just bland and generic. And there weren't exactly a whole lot of overly interesting things happening throughout the course of the narrative, and that made sitting through this movie somewhat boring.There is actually a surprising amount of familiar faces on the cast list, with the likes of Omari Hardwick, Gary Dourdan, Bill Cobbs, Richard T. Jones and Marc Singer. The acting performances in the movie were fair.While I managed to sit through this movie, I was only mildly entertained. If you enjoy thrillers, then this is hardly a movie that I would recommend you to sit down and watch. And it definitely is not a movie that I will return to watch a second time.For a thriller, I found "The Last Letter" to be rather devoid of thrills and excitement.My rating of writer and director Paul D. Hannah's 2013 movie "The Last Letter" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
