Plot summary

Mike Locken is one of the principal members of a group of freelance spies. A significant portion of their work is for the CIA, and while on a case for them one of his friends turns on him and shoots him in the elbow and knee. His assignment, to protect someone, goes down in flames. He is nearly crippled, but with braces is able to again become mobile. For revenge as much as anything else, Mike goes after his ex-friend.

Popcorn movie. It's entertaining, but a bit long

Popcorn movie. It's entertaining, but a bit long. Good cast. This half-century-old movie is at least a good sample of that bygone era, not so far away, which should be interesting to watch today. As a thriller, there's not much thrill to it, but watching Caan, Duval, and Young is a nice enticement.

Convoluted and ultimately nihilistic storyline. US agents are double crossed and then further played on. In the beginning we have the recovery of James Caan and a love affair with his nurse. Once we go to the second part of the movie concerning the supposed rescue of the Chinese leader, the girlfriend is discarded never to be heard again. Very realistic depiction of Caan’s injuries and surgical wounds. Watchable, but unbalanced.
