yo blorgendorf... thank you for that tidbit of info!

WARNING! This version is missing most of the sound effects! This is a well known problem with the DVD release. Look up "The Hobbit (1977) HD And Audio Fix" on Internet Archive, its the best I can find.

you guys I think I downloaded the wrong hobbit movie :(

I have all three of the animated hobbit, lord of the rings and return of the king on VHS. just love them but want to watch them on my pc

I remember when it first premiered on television. I was so excited. A wonderful first introduction to the world of Tolkien's Middle-Earth.

I thought this movie was lost to the world, it was one of my first theater movies, and I loved it Thanks

Can you try and find "The Return of the King" (1980) animated? It's the only other epic voice over with John Huston etc. Not sure what happened with the lord of the rings animated one...but the LOTR return of the king animated was absolutely awesome with original looking characters and voice overs.

It may be imperfect in many ways but it was an honest attempt to bring the joy of The Hobbit to the screen. I prefer it a thousandfold over the money grubbing travesty inflicted on us by the shameless peter Jackson.

1080pixel plsss...condolence to Family of Tolkien and Tolkien lovers...^.o

I HATE STORY ABOUT SLAYING DRAGONS, IF YOU DO TOO ND LIKE A BETTER STORIES ABOUT DRAGONS.. TRY FLIGHTS OF DRAGONS, BETTER MOVIE.

Horizontally stretched to reach an artificial 16.9 ratio from the original 4.3 ratio, which results in a highly deformed picture. Prefer the E.T.R.G. version if you can find it.

Thanks!!

So it's totally possible to tell the story in a single movie. Thanks

The Live action versoin in garbage.Soooo much added bullshit. This is simple and true to the story without a stupid love story between an elf and Dwarf. THE HOBBIT IS A CHILDRENS BOOK!!!!

A very childish, kiddy version of the live action adaption of the book.

Thank you!
